On Friday I joined an old school pal, Amy & her fiancé Rom, to photograph their wedding at Rudding Park, near Harrogate.

Wedding photography at Rudding Park is always lots of fun – and these guys threw a cracking party for many old faces I’ve not seen in a long while!

I joined Amy & the gang where she grew up, in Shadwell at the start of the Queen’s bunting-tastic Diamond Jubilee weekend

I arrived as the girls were wrapping up their hair at a local salon
Then back at Amy’s parents place the dress was proudly unveiled!

Amy looked brilliant and was super relaxed in front of the camera.

Amy’s arty pal of ‘team beehive’, Louise, did a wonderful job with Amy’s makeup

Here are her wedding shoes, out & ready to party

A little detail I liked of Amy’s bubbles & engagement ring

The bridesmaids were in ace navy flowing dresses

The Alcock sisters helping make one-another up

I loved the 60s nod to beehives and side-buns on the girls.Amy received a lovely card from Rom in the morning. And as Amy got a bit teary, best mate Phoebe jumped in to lighten the load!

Outside on a little bridge in the garden I caught a few snaps of the lovely bridal bouquets in ivory & lavender

I like one of mum, all dressed to go & Amy having a cuddleMeanwhile, over at the chaps holiday cottage  in Knaresborough, my buddy Pete Boyd stepped in for 2nd shooty duties

The guys shirts and casual ties were out

Here’s the main main Rom & best man Ryan

For some reason socks were donned on the sofa

Amy & Rom had their rings specially engravedAnd Rom’s mum decided Rom needed a spot of makeup!

Rom’s family are SriLankan, and I like the cheeky tropical nod in his floral tie.

I love this one of Team Groom outside the cottage before heading to the churchBack at Amy’s, the wedding car had arrived.Mum & the girls helped Amy into her gown.

As it got awful hot, duties included fanning!

And here’s our blushing bride looking cool while having her shoes put onI like this one of all the comings and goings and Louise taking in her friend in her wedding getup!Downstairs, waiting for Amy to come down, dad checked he was presentableBut in the end couldn’t contain himself and ran up for a look!

Love this reaction to seeing dad see her.

Adorable.A couple of quick family snaps…

…and one of the ladies…

and the girls took to the road in the silver cloud

Amy and Dad had a bit of quality time together while they waited for the car to return

and I headed to join the gang at their family church in Thorner.
It was a huge & beautiful church!  Amy & Rom had made their order of services themselves.

Here’s Rom, looking very chilled

and outside, Amy arrived and was escorted up to the church

I love this one – there’s so much going on; a proud father & daughter looking at Rom, and friends enjoying seeing their friends dressed as bridesmaids!

Both Rom and Amy’s brothers gave readings during the serviceThe ringsThe kiss (and some happy faces!)

The registers

and back to down the aisle as man & wife!

Loving the thumbs up from Rom and the major grin on Amy!

Outside, pals congratulated the newlyweds

A quick everyone shot…

…and down outside the gates, a bomb of confetti…

…before enjoying some fizz on the way to Rudding Park!

Rudding was looking great when we arrived.

And before guests arrived, we nipped off for a quick round of portraits.

I love how casual Rom’s walk looks in this one.

These guys were very easy to photograph indeed, which I found at the pre-wedding photoshoot we’d done at Rudding earlier this year.

Check out the images here if you’d like to see more!

Very much in love and very happy indeed

Aww.

A nice full length shot of Amy’s beautiful dress.

In front of the blossoming rhododendrons

Top work to them both stomping around on the damp grass to get these lovely images.

I like this little moment

and back to the house we went

A few quick family groups

And then for a bit of fun with the wedding party!

Love this one!

Amy’s Angels!

and a bit of man love from Team Groom!

The wedding breakfast room looked brilliant, and hand drawn table titles were named after special areas of London.

Rom’s mum Gini made this brilliant SriLankan ‘Love Cake’, with delicate hand-made sugar-icing roses!

[ I had a bit later and it tasted ace! ]

Speeches were most amusing

Then Amy & Rom took to the floor to Bob Marley’s ‘Is This Love’…

Followed soon after by a live band made up of Amy’s musical buddies, dropping some ace live covers for the revellers.Amy even joined the boys for a rendition of Paul Simon’s ‘You can call me Al’!

Fun times indeed!

So after the camera was set down, I caught up with a few old buddies I’ve not seen in too long, and let the party rock into the night.

It was brilliant to be part of Amy & Rom’s big day, and see a good school friend tie the knot to such a great chap!

May I wish you a fantastic life together, and enjoy the Stateside honeymoon in September!
