Last weekend I joined Natasha & Guy for their wedding photography at Carlton Towers near Goole in Yorkshire in the blazing summer sun!
And what a gorgeous day it was too! After a relaxed morning with the girls at Tasha’s parents gorgeous home in the village of Hibaldstow (and the surprise delivery of a vintage limo for the girls!), we headed to Carlton Towers to finish the preparations.
Now I love photographing weddings at Carlton Towers. It’s a vast, elegant 17th century Grade I listed country house surrounded by a 250-acre park and makes for just the most spectacular backdrop for any wedding.
My wingwoman Lissa Alexandra joined Guy and the chaps there, while the girls snuck up to the top floor to finish getting ready in the ‘Old School Room’
After beautiful readings from gran and mum during their civil ceremony in one of the epic staterooms, the party headed out onto the sweeping staircase out front for a blast of confetti! As it was one of those rare summer days topping out at 30 degrees, so guest promptly dived under umbrellas for shade to enjoy delicious canapés and champagne while a string quartet played in the background…
After a few portraits and group photos we headed into another gorgeous stateroom for a delicious meal, punctuated by funny speeches from not only the usual Dad, groom & best man cast, but the sister of the bride too.
Before we knew it, and after a quick skip in the golden hour evening rays, it was time to cut the cake, rock a first dance to Barry White’s ‘Can’t Get Enough of Your Love Babe’ (!) & then hit the dancefloor! This wedding was also all the more fun for me, as I’d shot Jade & Tom’s wedding (one of Tasha’s bridesmaids) a few years back, so I recognised a lot of the lovely guests faces too!
