Not too long ago I joined Kristina & Dan for their pre-wedding practice shoot in the centre of Harrogate
It was such a lovely sunny afternoon that before joining them, Clare & I followed afternoon tea at Betty’s with a few hours sunbathing with the masses on the stray!
I love visiting Harrogate, with all the pomp of it’s grand Victorian architecture.
They’re actually getting married at Priory Cottages near Wetherby, but as I’ve photographed there loads of times before, Kristina & Dan chose to have their practice pictures in the beautiful  Valley Gardens…
…where the masses had also decided to go hang out!
After our catch up about the big day logistics, we snuck off to find some quieter spots to do a few practice portraits.
For me, it’s so important to put couples through a round of practice pictures, just to iron out any anxieties they may have about being photographed before the wedding!
Nothing like a few public displays of affection to get a couple squirming!
The light was so lovely that evening!
And nice to have a sea of blossom to shoot against!
We found this cool area of wood carvings, that I later discovered were by a chainsaw artist named Jonathan Sherwood
We wrapped up the shoot with a few pictures under the broken trellis shadows around the Collonades
It was great to see how photogenic these kids were together!
This was one of my faves of the shoot.
Really looking forward to joining these guys in early June!
Stay tuned for their official highlights the day after their wedding…
