Yesterday I joined Kate & Tim for their wedding photography at Headingley Golf Club in Leeds!

In spite of a rather inclement forecast, the day turned into a beautiful golden Autumn day, and after a lovely ceremony at St. John the Baptist Church in Adel, the reception at Headingley Golf Club was a wonderfully chilled affair.

I joined Kate & the girls at Kate’s family home in Bramhope

Kate and the gang were having a most relaxing morning, having their hair done and enjoying a few glasses of fizz

I nipped upstairs to take a few details of the dress & shoes

Tim’s allergic to flowers, so they had silk flowers made especially by Sally Cartlidge at Friday Flowers.

Upstairs, I also spotted this Snowy, Kate’s old knitted pal, just chillin’ on the bed. Look how cute and well loved he looks!

😉

Dad was keeping himself out of trouble in the study writing up his speech…

Meanwhile, my wingman Hamish joined Tim & his crew over in Adel…

Two of Tim’s nieces took on flower girl responsibilities

The church, St. John the Baptist Church in Adel, is described as “one of the best and most complete Norman churches in Yorkshire”, and the fancy the chancel arch features no less than 37 grotesque beakheads

Back at the girls it was time to gown up into Kate’s stunning ‘Paloma’ gown by Mikaella (from The Bridal Gown in Otley)

I always like these moments.

Proud as punch.

This pose on the right was Kate pretending to look all modelly, but I think she looks fab!

…here comes the bride!

After a quick teamshot of everyone, we headed down to the gates for a little blast of confetti…

Then, while guests literally crossed the road for the reception at the golf club, we took a quick spin around the autumnal church grounds for a few couple portraits

We’d done a round of practice pics at the church a while ago, to get them used to being papped, which can be seen on their pre-wed blog here.

I thought it rude not to use this amazing arch to frame a few cuddles.

Then it was over to the clubhouse for reception mingles in the afternoon sunshine

I bumped into a whole bunch of guests I knew at this wedding! A couple who’s wedding I’d papped a year and a half back (Chris and Harriett, now with a baby due), Property magnate Jonathan Morgan (who I’ve photographed for in the past) and my good pal and fellow wedding shooter, Olivia Brabbs & her hubby!  It’s a small world sometimes!

Before settling down to eat, we did a quick round of family pics on the steps up to the first tee

And some relaxed shots of the wedding party

Then it was time to dine, with quick speeches first…

And after the cutting of the elegant cake by Otley Cakes, our duties were officially over!

But as night set during the delicious meal they’d fed us, it seemed only right to grab a few final snaps of our happy couple at dusk, before hitting the road!

So here’s wishing Kate & Tim many congratulations, a very happy life together and a relaxing honeymoon in Sitges in Spain, and around Lake Como!
