A while back I joined Kate + Tim for their pre-wedding meeting at Headingley Golf Club, for a snoop and round of practice portraits ahead of their big day this weekend!
It was a drizzly afternoon when we arrived at ‘The Oldest Golf Club in Leeds’.
I always like to nosey around places I’ve not shot before, to get a feel for where would be good for portraits and family groups.
But fundamentally, they’re about getting upcoming couples used to posing for a few photos! As the process generally doesn’t feel particularly natural to most!
Clearly surveying the middle distance like a boss was the first move I taught these guys.
But it’s really just about a couple getting used to the process, and relaxing into a few cuddles and smooches.
In spite of a bit of inclemental interference, we persevered through!
…worked around high differences!
And then we crossed the road for a nosey around their church, St John The Baptist, literally over the road from the course.
I think round about here we were getting far more relaxed portraits
And this is one of my faves
I always like to do a quick individual mugshot of each victim too!
And then I left them to it, fully trained up for the wedding portraits this weekend!
Stay tuned for the official blog of highlights on Sunday…
