Mid last year I was asked by my good buddy Joe Stenson if I’d like to join him on second photographer duties at Emma + Josh’s wedding at Hornington Manor.
This hidden gem isn’t far from York, near Bolton Percy in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside. This unique Grade II listed farmhouse style Manor was built in 1770 and has been lovingly restored to provide luxury self-catering accommodation. It’s got high-end accommodation for up to 44 guests (great for your near and dear to party with you till late, and has beautiful surroundings and arable fields to enjoy from the wedding reception. Hornington Manor weddings certainly are a wonderful affair!
The grounds have their own charm and story to tell – from the original servants’ bells hanging in the Servants’ Quarters, to the wedding barn which was previously home to new-born lambs.
And to add into this mix, Emma + Josh were lots of fun to photograph. They let loose, relaxed into the day, and Emma looked drop-dead gorgeous in a stunning, long-sleeved shoulderless gown!
I don’t often get asked to second shoot, so it was lots of fun to capture the boys side of the story, the view from the back of the church, guests mingling, and a few portraits and moments with the happy couple through the day. I even managed to squeeze a few snaps of Joe in action, like this one at the church!
