Last Saturday I joined this lovely pair, Felicity + Andrew, to capture their wedding photos at Goldsborough Hall, a fab stately home wedding venue between Harrogate & Knaresborough in Yorkshire.
Goldsborough Hall is one of Yorkshire’s finest wedding venue, with luxury accommodation, royal connections and stunning gardens (with an ace giant Union Jack mowed into one of its lawns)! It’s still lived in by its fab owners, Clare and Mark Oglesby (and their ace dogs), and they’ve done wonders with it in recent years, creating a new orangery wedding breakfast space, and are almost there with their upcoming Glasshouse and kitchen garden!
Fliss + Andy did a wonderful job laying out a super special day for their near and dear, and after relaxed morning preparations, they had their ceremony next door in the ancient St Mary the Virgin Church, before exiting out the side door under a hail of confetti, and through the secret door back into Goldsborough Hall grounds for the afternoon reception. After a quick and amusing round of groupshots (the groomsmen were loads of fun!) I took the newlyweds on a quick stroll round the stunning gardens (and even into the new Glasshouse) for a few portraits, before dropping them back with the guests to mingle and enjoy the fizz and delicious GH canapes!
As a pair of foodies, F+A named their wedding breakfast tables in the Orangery after their favourite restaurants! Speeches were a great set of touching and fun tales about the happy couple, and after a quick cake cut, it was time for the first dance. Not long later was a father/daughter and mother/son dance and/or cigars, as ties began to loosen and guests got stuck into their drinks! It didn’t matter that come evening time, the drizzle had started, and we even got a quick final drizzly flash portrait under a brolly, to round things off!
All in all… a wonderful day all round!
