On Saturday I joined Kerrie + Martyn for their wedding photography at Woodlands Hotel in Leeds Yorkshire!
It was a beautiful Autumnal day, Kerrie looked totally radiant and as Martyn’s a DJ slash photographer, it fortunately wasn’t too stressful papping another shooter’s big day!
Woodlands was looking wonderfully Autumnal with the orange leaves strewn around the grounds when I arrived to photograph Kerrie’s morning preparations
The girls were having a most relaxing morning, enjoying having their hair & make-up done by friends…
Gorgeous
The blingged up Sophia Tolli gown looked stunning
…as did all the other dusky, sparkly details!
This amusing little bridesmaid only offered me three photographic options; staring (above), deathly evils (not featured) and running away and hiding!
😉
Martyn had sent Kerrie a lovely card & wedding survival pack, including lucky charms & a bottle of Amaretto!
Kerrie had also had the same idea, and sent Martyn a bottle of the same!
Meanwhile, over in Yeadon on the edge of Leeds, Hamish joined Martyn & the dudes for their morning’s fun
As a DJ, Martyn of course was wearing turntable cufflinks!
All the chaps had also been given a unique set of ‘links in line with their hobbies & interests!
Nothing like making a few last minute amends to the speech on the way over!
With M+K being so into their music, it seemed a good idea to pap the rings on the piano
The ceremony room looked great dressed to match the bridesmaids dresses, which as it happens were going on upstairs…
Then it was time for our bride to gown up!
Stunning
I like this image shot into the window. They’re generally not easy to expose for, but I love how the light wraps around everyone
Guests made their way through…
…and after one quick bridal team shot, we headed down to join the party!
I like these two storytellers. It’s a big deal the feelings that go through a couple at this moment & it’s an honour to be able to witness it.
Then it was back down the aisle as man & wife, and out onto the terrace for drinks & canapes
After a quick teamshot of everyone, we got the bubbles out for a bit of bubblefetti…
Then after the usual family lineups, we had a bit of fun with the wedding party people!
Then it was time for a quick round of relaxed portraits of the happy couple.
We’d had a good practice a few months back around Woodlands (check them out on their post here), so it made the shoot much easier and quicker for all.
They make a beautiful pair.
Nice to have the autumnal colours in the background of these individual portraits
The it was back to the party, to mingle with their near and dear over a few drinks!
The marquee looked lovely
Like this cheeky little one after they’d sat for the meal!
As evening set over the hotel, I set up a few flashes for a bit of evening portraiture in front of the house and trees
Then all of a sudden it was time for the evening formalities, the official cutting the cake (made by their family friend Stuart!) and first dancing to a bit of Aerosmith!
It was fun to see Lindy & Tim, a couple we’d shot over in York a few months back, join the evening celebrations!
So once the night got started, we left the guys to enjoy the party!
Congratulations Martyn & Kerrie! Here’s wishing you guys a fab honeymoon in Tunisia & a wonderful life together!
