Yesterday I joined Liz & Mark for their beautifully Autumnal wedding up in deepest North Yorkshire

They were married at the wonderful Middleton Lodge and not only was the weather absolutely perfect, but so was their entire wedding day!

I always love shooting at Middleton Lodge, a charming private country mansion up near Richmond in North Yorkshire.  Not only is it stunning inside and out, and set in 250 acres of beautiful parkland, but it’s also a private house through the week and I’ve met the family that live there a few times and they’re ace.

I joined Liz & team Bride for their morning’s pampering & champering!

The beautiful, vintagey bridal gown by Jenny Packham!A perfect match for the bridal shoeses.

Mark’s package of thoughtful gifts for ‘The Many Faces of Liz’!

The wedding flora by Knaresborough-based Lucy MacNicol Flowers was insanely beautiful

And came in these brilliant little boxes!

Deciding on headpiece positioning and checking the finishing touches

Clare joined the Mark & his boys for their morning’s preparations.  Mark was a particularly chilled out groom.

With there being one in my branding, we couldn’t resist an Autumnal ringshot!Team Groom ASSEMBLE!

Mark and his two best menThe ceremony can be held in various places at Middleton Lodge, in the lounge, outside under the pagoda or in the main staircase.

Liz & Mark went for the staircase option, with standing room up the stairs and on balcony above.

One blushing and very slightly nervous bride, ready to go!

A quick teamshot…

…before heading downstairs
Although we got various angles of the kiss, I kinda prefer this moment, just after it

The official signingCONFETTI BOMB!

After whistling through the family lineups…

…we got onto the official wedding party people shots…

…and the slightly less-official wedding party people shots!
Team Bride!

KeeeeeeeEEEEEEP DANCING!

Once done with the girls, I let em pop back inside & get warm while I took the boys to a particularly Autumnal spot bathed in low evening sunshine!

Ace eh!?

Then Mark & I popped back to collect Liz for the portrait pics…

Which it seemed foolish not to do back in the sunny orange leaves.

That dress is just brilliant

I couldn’t get enough of these two cuddling in this sunshine!

Aww

Back at the house they had a good 45 minutes left to mingle with their pals.

Love this one of Liz showing her new ring to some pals.

A line-up classic!

As the evening sun set, I popped down to the Marquee round the back…

…to get a few pics of the wonderful wedding breakfast table settings

A pal had done a brilliant job hand-drawing all their table names.High 5!Mark’s speech was a lovely, heart-warming affair

And the best men did a grand job keeping the crowds entertained…

…and Mark ashamed! As dusk settled over the proceedings…

…cakes were cut (from M&S no less!)…

…and a one of the best first dance routines we’ve ever seen were danced…

…then we let their gang go wild on our fun red curtain Photobooth!

Then we left the gang to party into the evening!

So here’s to Liz & Mark and their very excellent friends and family, for making us feel so welcome on their wonderful, sunny, Autumnal wedding!  We had a blast, and hope you both have a cracking time in Capetown & Mauritius!

Party on,

Barns & Clare x
