A few weeks back I joined Sam & Rob for their sunny pre-wedding practice shoot at The Mansion in Roundhay Park, in Leeds.
I’ve photographed many weddings there before and it’s a brilliant wedding venue, run by the brilliant team at Dine.
After we’d caught up and got on the same page about the big day logistics, we took to the practice ‘pre-wedding’ shoot to get these kids limbered up for big day portraits!
It didn’t take long for these guys to relax into it…
…and it was so nice that the sun had his hat on!
Love this one!
It’s not often I get chance to have couples lay out on the grass!
I grew up across the field from Roundhay park and remember The Mansion as being one of those old pubs it wasn’t that hard to get served at, in spite of looking 16!
Things have changed now it’s become a classy, exclusive wedding venue!
Sam & Rob even had the foresight to being a few fun props along for the shoot (though the wing had other plans for the letters!)
In a sea of daffodils!
The specialist gardens in Roundhay Park are hidden away and most people don’t know about them, but they’re full of different horticultural exhibitions, include the Chelsea Gold winning entries by Leeds City Council.
I love how this fountain caught the light.
By the end I was pretty sure these guys knew the drill, and we’d got some cracking portraits.
Can’t wait for their big day in July!
