Yesterday I joined Erron & Peter to photograph their wedding at Ripley Castle!
In spite of the drizzles, we had an absolutely cracking day!
Before joining Erron & the girls in Ripley, I had a little wander around this pretty Yorkshire village and amazing castle grounds!
I liked that the poppies were out in a field on the way over, reminding me of Remembrance Day
The forecast all day was a bit ominous, and the rain came and went throughout, but fortunately didn’t spoil proceedings…
I joined the girls at The Boar’s Head, greeted by a very smart sentry on the door…
Team Bride were enjoying fizz and pampering (and shots of gold leaf vodka in chocolate shot glasses!)
A few details of the beautiful wedding gown, shoes & flora…
😉
Meanwhile, over in Harrogate, my wingman Hamish joined the dudes for their side of the morning story.
Everywhere in Yorkshire has gone cycle mad in preparation for the impending Tour De France!
Pistol Pete – the Man of the Hour!
A few well earned sharpeners at the Harrogate Wetherspoon’s before heading over to Ripley
Rebel without a cause spotted behind the impressive Horse & Cart!
I spotted Dad taking a moment as Erron gowned up, supported by a little hug from mum.
I do like to catch that moment when Dad first spots his little girl all ready to play on her wedding day. Â It’s a special moment.
All Saint’s church was set beautifully, with more horse related theming (you may have spotted that Erron & Pete are into their horses!)
One of the best men is actually a professional dressage all-rounder!
Here comes the bride!
A little celebratory kiss as man & wife as guests filed out
It was raining pretty hard at this point, so confetti was a quick blast before Erron & Pete jumped into their carriage for a quite ride together.
During a quick let up in the weather, we headed out for a quick round of portraits
It’s ace to shoot a couple who are up for pics in spite of the weather.
Erron was like “We are going down to that jetty, I don’t care!”
My kinda bride!
We even found a moment to get everyone out for a full teamshot!
But it was wiser to use a room upstairs for the official family groups!
The wedding breakfast was set beautifully, with tables named after prize winning horses
Aprons for the top table! Particularly cunning for those wearing white!
Speeches were amusing!
After dinner it looked like a completely different day! The sun came out and guests mingled outside like it had been summer all along!
It was ace to see Rob & Vicky – cousin’s of Pete – and who’s wedding I photographed 2 years ago at Priory Cottages near Wetherby! Â Time flies indeed!
We decided it’d be rude not to head out into the sun for round 2 of portraits…
Then all of a sudden it was time to cut the cake…
…toss the bouquet …
…and hit the dancefloor for the first dance!
What a lovely day all round! Â So nice to get through the drizzle without any trouble, and to get a cheeky blast of sun in the evening!
Here’s wishing Erron & Pete an amazing life together as man & wife and an amazing honeymoon in Cyprus!
Party on kids,
Barns & Hamish x
