These kids were always gonna be ace to photograph, ahead of their wedding this Saturday!

Basically, Paul was best man to a fantastic couple called Rachael & Iain, who’s wedding I had an absolute ball shooting, and have since become firm friends with.  Paul & his beautiful fiance Sarah had experienced first hand (and were no doubt further briefed on) the way I roll and we’re probably the easiest pre-wed I’ve shot this year!

It certainly helped to be shooting at this magnificent site, Waterton Park Hotel & Walton Hall not far from Wakefield!

Basically it’s a venue of two parts, a purpose built, pimp modern 4* hotel and the adjacent gracious Georgian mansion, Walton Hall, on it’s very own island, surrounded by a lake and interconnected by a cool old iron footbridge.

When we crossed the bridge we saw this cool old dude & his pooch chugging about poking fish

In the blazing sunshine, we got started with a few cuddles on the bridge…

…before crossing over to the hall

Shoes were slipped off…

…to chill out by the lake in this cool exposed archway.

They look great eh!  And were so natural in front of the camera.

It was the perfect weather for a lie-down on the grass.  Fingers crossed for a bit of weather like this on Saturday!

We even braved a bug ridden patch of tall grass to get a bit of smooching-in-the-pastures type images

I really like this one.  There’s something clean and strong about it.

And in this one I love how the blurry foreground grass softens the image and frames our lovely couple.

I’m really looking forward to joining these kids this weekend.  Though Paul seems to have a bit of a naughty streak, and with major liability Iain (and reportedly worse) playing groomsman, I feel for Clare during the gents preps!

Bring it on!  (And watch this space for the highlights slideshow early next week!)
