Last week I joined an upcoming wedding couple called Kelly & Ben for their pre-wedding catch up and practice portrait shoot
They’re soon to be hosting their wedding celebrations at The Bridge Hotel & Spa near Wetherby. It’s a venue I’ve photographed at before and is a lovely spot indeed.
Spring is finally starting to show signs that it’s interested in being sprung; and it was lovely being able to shoot in a spot of sunshine!
After we’d caught up over a few tonics, we dived into the practice shoot around the Bridge grounds
It’s always good to do a practice shoot at a venue, as I often find areas I can use that I’ve not spotted before.
There are plenty of spots and textures to photograph in front of around the hotel.
Most people don’t feel natural in front of the camera, and come to these shoots quite anxious about it, but these guys were so easy to shoot!
Really like this one. A composition I don’t generally use, but liked the way you’re drawn in on Kelly’s eyes.
Since shooting there last time, I’ve found out that round the back of the Bridge is a disused lane that makes a brilliant spot for a wander…
Perfect!
It made a change to have to look for areas of shade to shoot in…
I think I’d seen somewhere a whole blog of images dedicated to people pretending to be levitating, so we had a little bounce!
I like this one a lot. I think both Kelly & Ben having their eyes closed has a soulful quality.
This was one of the most fun pre-weds I’ve done in a while. They were both game and relaxed and made it great fun indeed!
Can’t wait for the big day in 2 weeks!
