Yesterday I joined Finola +Matthew for their wedding photos at Rudby Hall near Yarm, a beautiful stately home wedding venue near Yarm in North Yorkshire!
I’ve not shot at Rudby Hall before and it’s a stunning exclusive Stately Home nestled away in the Hutton Rudby in the rolling countryside near the borders of County Durham. Full of character, charm and warmth, with 13 individually decorated bedrooms and a bunch of spectacular reception rooms, a happy couple get to play lord or lady of the manor (for 48hrs!) and celebrate in style!
And Finn + Matt landed lucky celebrating on a gloriously sunny, crisp Autumn day (the day after a relentless downpour!). Guests and wedding party buzzed around the manor getting ready, before crossing the border into Stockton-Upon-Tees for a charming ceremony at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. After a load of congratulations, we headed back to the Hall for a quick round of pics, a blast of confetti dried by hand by Finola, and plenty fizz & canapés in the beautiful grounds and rooms. A delicious meal was served in the drawing room ahead of a charming set of speeches from an emotional father, groom & 2 groomsmen (all sensitively delivered, bringing a few tears to my eyes too!).
As the evening set in the happy couple laid out their first dance and handed the party reigns to cèilidh band ‘Fiddler’s Wreck’, who got the room twirling, tying themselves in knots, and even riding each other between rows of clapping revelry! Great craic to end a fabulous day all round!
