Yesterday I joined Eleanor & Richard to photograph their beautiful, fun wedding at St Olav’s Church in the York Museum Gardens and St William’s College.
I hope you enjoy our the story of this special day!
I joined Eleanor & team bride in central York, so on the way to Browns, I had a little wander through a few classic spots on, to set the scene
The girls were busy being pampered on the Estee Lauder counter
Then we all piled in a cab to a lovely little cottage by a cricket pitch just outside the centre of York, to complete the preparations…
Meanwhile, Clare, on 2nd shooter duties, headed over to Eleanor & Richards home to pap Rich and the chaps getting ready
I really like this one
Suited and booted, the gents took a short stroll through central York to St Olav’s Church in the Museum Gardens
It’s the first time we’ve shot in this lovely old Church, situated within the ruins of St Mary’s Abbey, and dating back as far as 1055!
York is great at being ancient.
Meanwhile, back with Team bride, Eleanor was being laced into her beautiful gown from Andrea Bambridge in York
Time for a quick bubbly cheers before veiling up!
Team Bride assembled!
The  3.4 litre Jaguar MkII S-Type from York Classic Cars was a beauty! I love the heady interior scent of leather, wood and petrol!
Eleanor’s not known for her punctuality; hence Rich checking the time!
A fashionable 20 minutes late, here comes the blushing bride!
The choir sounded ace in this vast church!
Sealed with a kiss!
Down the aisle as man & wife!
After a bit of mingle time, ushers handed out balloons to the guests and we headed round to the ruins of St. Mary’s Abbey
Love this shot of this little chap as the wind blew his balloon into position!
I’ve not done an everyone shot with balloons before!
And after a quick bomb of confetti…
… all of a sudden the New York Brass Band fired up behind the guests!
Then like the pied piper of Hamlin, they played the guests through central York and to the afternoon reception at St Williams!
A fun idea, brilliantly executed!
I kept the happy couple behind for a few portraits around the museum gardens
Don’t they look great? They make a lovely pair.
Then we jumped in the jag and set off through town, receiving congratulations all along the route!
We swung by York Minster and jumped out to do a few photos in front of the grand arched doorways. Â It was full of tourists and after a big cheer, a bemused Eleanor was asked to pose with a bunch of tourists!
This is probably my favourite image of the day!
We then strolled around the minster and to the stunning medieval St. William’s College…
All the guests were ready in the courtyard to welcome the newlyweds with a cheer, then the happy couple let everyone’s balloons go!
The brilliant band played on through the afternoon mingles
We whistled through the family groups in about 10 minutes, and then got onto a few fun wedding party shots…
😉
Morwen at St. Williams and Dutch Nurseries had done a brilliant job dressing the grand hall for the wedding breakfast meal
Butterflies and Angels in Rotherham provided the La Duree Parisienne Macaroon inspired wedding cake.
Speeches were great fun, including an appearance from Phillip Schofield & Gordon The Gofer!
During the evening reception we ran our fun photobooth in an adjoining room!

The evening party was kicked off with the official cutting of the cake…
Then it was over to Lionel Richie for a bit of first dance action!
Then the party really got started!
With a sparkly heart we bid the newly weds adieu!
Thank you guys for asking us along to your brilliantly fun, laid-back wedding in York! Â We had a blast.
Have a fab honeymoon in Stateside!
