A few weekends back I joined Josh & Laura for their pre-wedding shoot!
Their wedding was deep in the rolling hills of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales!
And as they do when the sun’s out, the Dales looked simply stunning 
Their wedding venue is on the other side of Settle, a little further into Ribblesdale.
I couldn’t help but stop in to catch a few snaps Settle’s beautiful market place as I passed through.
Sadly I didn’t have time for a scoop at Ye Olde Naked Man
Laura & Josh are soon to be getting married at a newly done out country house wedding venue called Taitlands
The Grade II listed property, which between the 1940s and 2007 was a YHA building, and only recently has been lovingly restored to its former glory, commands stunning views down Ribblesdale and looking over to Pendle Hill.
The gardens were bursting with wild flowers and buzzing with bees while we took coffee in the Coach-house Tea Rooms. 
Afterwards Laura & Josh showed me around the grounds & we kicked off our practice photoshoot!
When I don’t know a venue, the pre-wed is important for me as it is for the couple. It helps me find some cool spots to potentially reuse on their big day
But probably most importantly, it gives the couple a chance to see how it feels to be photographed. 
That and it lets me add yet more images of peoples shoes to my collection
(I promise it isn’t a fetish!)
It’s really good to show a couple that I can capture lovely relaxed portraits of them
And shows them that they can mess about a bit too!

Officially this is a nice shot of Laura’s ring… but really I love her retro watch!
I had one just like that once!

Time for a skip through the veggie patch
And as it was Olympic time when we hooked up, it seemed rude not to fire off a few Lightening Bolts!
As is customary in the Yorkshire Dales, the weather schitz’d out on us and went from the most beautiful summer sun to torrential downpour in the space of a minute, so we ducked into the Greek Revival style entrance portico and behind its fluted columns we found this funky brolly!
Win!
I loved the colour of this door for a quick cuddle!
Then we had a go braving it in the rain
And Josh even thought it was a good idea to do a few pictures in the wild flowers we’d admired on our lap earlier.
It’s fair to say it wasn’t.
But I love their expressions!
I had a cracking time catching up with these cool kids, and am seriously looking forward to their big day at Taitlands!
