Last Saturday I joined Amy + Simon for their wonderful (snowy!) wedding photography at Bunny Hill Farm near York!
Now these guys originally enquired with me all the way back in November 2018 for a big day originally penned for May 2020… and then ol’Covid struck… and kicked it all down the road all the way to February 2022! That’s quite a while to wait, but did it dampen their spirits to have waited all this time?!
Hell no!
In fact, it just gave Amy + Si time to dream up ever more time to dream up ways to pack the day with extra FUN! 2 dresses, 3 different musical acts, a DJ, a photobooth, my favourite caterer Hog + Apple on delicious grub duties… awesome! Not even Storm Eunice could rain on this parade, and we even ended up going out into the snowstorm for a few fun coupe and group pics! Win win!
It was also my first time at Bunny Hill, and I’ve been looking forward to shooting here! Situated between York and Hull, on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, it’s the perfect, purpose built wedding venue! There’s abundant space inside (ideal when caught in a storm!) within a smartly renovated barn & outside you’re in the middle of no-where, framed by woodland and able to get ready / sleep loads of guests on site! Perfect.
Amy & Si (though arguably Amy!) put so much thought into making a magical day for everyone. I was really touched by heartfelt speeches from Dad, Si, best man Mikey & Amy, and while some special guests sadly couldn’t make it (including two dear grandparents) they were honoured in bouquets, in photos and in the speeches.
It was such a pleasure to be part of this lovely day, in this lovely place, and I can’t believe what looked like a washout forecast ended up turning it into a white wedding!
