Not too long ago was the wonderful wedding of Angie & Chris. The weekend before and weekend after were glorious, but their date sadly fell on a rainy one in between. But hey – as I always say, in England most of a wedding is spent indoors, and if a window arises as showers lighten, we duck out & get a few snaps under a white brolly. They and their guests were in good spirits and it was a fun day all round. I had the help of Greg Roslon, a skilled photographer & friend, helping out on the day. Have a looksy at a few details caught during bridal preparations.
I remember my TomTom getting seriously freaked out on the way to their venue, the Hey Green Hotel in Marsden, taking me on various beautifully scenic adventures down dirt tracks & up narrow lanes that ended at a farm. “Must watch out for that on the day”, thought I. But on leaving Angies we soon found ourselves at a dead end at a farm – gotta love SatNav. Fortunately, I’d scheduled an extra 15 minutes journey time, just in case, and we made it just in time. It was fun driving though, and cos Hey Green is IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, there aren’t any big roads nearby, so SatNav takes you “o’er t’tops”, and you really get a lovely view of Yorkshire’s rolling hills.
This was a pretty view just outside the hotel entrance that caught my eye.
Below is the ‘Random 40’ gallery of some of my favourite details, moments & portraits from their day…

I also quite like this sequence of Angie arriving into the ceremony, caught by Greg & I.
…slide the ring onto the left finger…
Angie was a hoot.
And all three speeches were hilarious. I’ve seen a lot of speeches and it’s great laughing along with the masses. Greg’s Polish and hasn’t seen so many English weddings, and came up and said something along the lines of “Are all weddings like this? That was like stand-up comedy. I’d pay to see them!” They were that good.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, Angie & Chris chose a fantastic song for their first dance, ‘One Day Like This’ by Elbow – check the video of them doing it live on the blog here.
We really enjoyed the evening’s celebrations, cos the party people got into it from the word go. Loads of fun and silly shapes being chucked about, with ties around heads. Just the way I like it.
It was a pleasure being involved in this wedding and their families were so welcoming and appreciative of our work. I hope Angie & Chris had an awesome honeymoon and wish them and little Tigger a long and happy life together!
