Yesterday I joined JP + Dan for their wedding photos at Ringwood Hall near Chesterfield in Yorkshire!
These gents are another victim of pandemic postponements and have set no less than EIGHT wedding dates to get here! It’s hard to believe, but made it all the more magical to actually get married yesterday!
The air of thankful celebration and all-round love for these two, in spite of a tough year for them and their families, was palpable in every guest! It was just so wonderful to be part of.
I also always enjoy same-sex wedding photography, as it allows for fun new dynamics and mixing things up! JP & Dan got ready with their respective wedding parties at the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield, before heading over to Ringwood Hall for the civil ceremony and celebrations. After cuddles and fizz, beers & chocolate dipped strawberry nibblies, we headed to the rose garden to toss confetti and smash through the family groups and portraits (which even included a splits and a spider-man kiss!). Then it was over to their marquee for sunny mingles with velcro darts and lawn games! After a delicious meal in their peacock blue themed wedding marquee, there were no less than 9 speakers – and it was both hilarious and fascinating to learn more about this lovely pair and how much they bring to one another, their families and the community around them.
A quick freshen up and it was time to cut the cake their auntie Tracey made, then into the first dance and a good boogie!
And as the last rays of light left the skies, we even managed to capture some beautiful backlit portraits in front of Ringwood’s gorgeous backdrops before we hit the road home!
