The last of my Winter weddings till after Christmas was with the lovely Londoners Georgina & Jonathan. I really enjoyed meeting these two again at their beautiful wintery pre-wed at Hazelwood Castle a few months back (post here). We had loads of fun and it was a joy to laugh and mess about photographing them. I could tell they’d be easy work on their big day.
The weather on their big day wasn’t ideal; umbrella flipping blustery rain, but we persevered and had a wonderful day. Here are a few of my faves, beginning at the Georgie’s parents beautiful house on a golf course outside Wakefield:
Lots of giggling was coming from upstairs, and the house was full of life and fun
The flowers were laid out on the kitchen table
The Star of the Show, Georgina on the left with her girls.
Meanwhile, over in a nearby Castle…
Jonny’s boys get themselves together
And the Best Man prepares mischief…
Here are a few of Jonny having a laugh with his best man outside.
Jonny & his merry men
Who shot a bit of pool at a nearby pub
Back at the girls I rather liked this backlit near silhouette of the dress.
And this shot of Georgie’s shoes
Georgie fixing some flowers into bridesmaid Olivia’s hair
It’s great to go in and catch the final pics of a bride getting into her dress. I like this sequence and think Georgie looks stunning.
Look at the detail on this beautiful dress.
Before heading on Georgie spent a quiet moment writing up her speech.
I also love it when brides give a speech during the wedding too. Why not?!
The girls, ready to roll!
Full length and angelic!
A detail of the flowers & dresses
A sweet ride
I do like coming up with interesting ringshots
The ceremony was at All Saint’s Church in Boston Spa – which happens to be the first church I ever shot a professional wedding at years before!
This lovely little church has an awesome, young and most importantly photo-friendly Vicar!
Here Jonny & friends await the girls
It’s so great to be able to be at the front during the arrival to catch the brides expression
A fish-eye view of pretty much everything inside
Does anyone have any reason why this couple may not be joined in matrimony?
After the silence is often a great little chuckle…
I’ll call this halfway for the post, and to save your broadband chewing on a load more pix, if you’d like to see more, click more below…
After a quick evaluation of the weather our lovely couple took shelter from the rain…
Over to Hazelwood Castle and our brave couple even took a quick turn around the castle!
Though rain called a stop to play.
So group shots were conducted inside.
The Great Hall was nearly ready for the wedding breakfast and I loved the way they wrote out an individual photo card for each and every guest
I think everyone loved this touch

And an entertaining best man!
First dance
2nd 3rd & 4th dances, to an ace live indie band
And a few cheeky sambukas in the bar!
It really was lovely to be involved in Georgie & Jonny’s big day. Their family and friends really took us in and made us feel welcome. In spite of inclemental weather, the wedding was a great success and we left them partying away on the dancefloor. A few days later the lucky Georgie & Jonny were jetting off for a couple of weeks in South East Asia! I love that neck of the world and think it’s the perfect antidote to a grizzly English winter!
