Yesterday I joined Maud & Craig to photograph their wedding at Meols Hall in Churchtown, near Southport.
We had an awesome time documenting the frolics of their sun- and fun-filled big day, and after getting home last night, put together a slideshow of official teasers for Maud & Craig to enjoy and share before they head off for their honeymoon. I like to blog a stream of my favourite storytellers, to add a bit more backstory to the images – so here goes!
I joined the girls at Mum & Dad’s digs near Southport
There were a LOT of folk there being pampered and buzzing around having lots of fun!
Maud seemed to have a great morning with the gang
Mum (a fellow Yorkshire lass!) was in the middle of the fray, while dad took himself out of the action to relax in another room with a brew!
While the girls had makeup applied, I spent a bit of time photographing Maud’s beautiful dress from Amelia’s Bridal Boutique in Clitheroe
The flora by Just Flowers in Southport looked brilliant.
Meanwhile, Clare headed over to join the chaps at their hotel on the coast
Love this shot of Craig having a quiet moment on the balcony, before the chaps had a nip of some very special Cardhu single malt!
A bit of Dutch courage was to be found at the Hesketh Arms in the picturesque, thatched village of Churchtown, next to Meols Hall.
Then the chaps headed into the stunning grounds of Meols Hall to check everything was ship shape
It was great to head back to Meol’s Hall again, all the more so in such beautiful weather!
The grand Tithe Barn & courtyard are where the wedding ceremony & reception take place.
Meanwhile, back with the girls Maud was being laced into her dress…
…and a little page boy & flower girl had arrived to join the fun!
😉
After an emotional first look at his beautiful daughter, Dad gave and fitted a sixpence in Maud’s shoe.
Then I had a minute to do a few quick portraits of Maud dressed to party!
After a quick fizzy toast, we headed out to hop into the Aston Martins supplied by Maud’s uncle.
Here comes the bride!
And down the aisle came man & wife!
At the hall, they head down the aisle and out the back for a few moments peace, while guests arm up with confetti in the courtyard…
Carrington’s delicious canapes were enjoyed in the sunshine with bubbles.
A few informal groupshots…
…before having a bit of fun with the wedding party!
Then I took Maud & Craig off for a few relaxed portraits around the grounds
We’d done a nice practice shoot in York a few weeks previously (check them out on the blog here), so they knew what was in store!
But I try to keep things quick and relaxed
While guests mingled, the Tithe Barn was turned around for the seaside themed wedding breakfast – featuring sand & seashells, hand decorated pebbles & sticks of rock written through with Maud ♥ Craig!
I liked how the ‘absent friends and family’ toast in dad’s speech was mainly directed at Maud & Craigs dogs!
The best man pulled out some impressive stag do photographs (featuring a stop into A&E!) during his amusing speech.
Then as the meal was served, we bid these lovely newlyweds farewell, to enjoy the evening reception in peace.
What a thoroughly lovely day all round – lovely venue, lovely weather and lovely people.
Here’s wishing Maud & Craig a very happy life together and a fab honeymoon up in the Lochs of Scotland with the dogs!
