Last Friday I joined Natasha and the (frankly brilliantly named) Barnaby (!) for their wedding photography at The Merchant Adventurer’s Hall in York!
It was only a short visit, from the ceremony until the speeches, but was a massive pleasure witnessing it all.  Having met where all the crazy kids meet – the atheist agnostic and secular society of course – they’ve become a full on Humanist couple.  And whenever I hear Humanist ceremonies, I’m always intrigued by what a breath of fresh air they are, and how personal & meaningful they feel.  They’re the perfect non-religious wedding ceremony, where you can marry where you want, when you want and how you want without a formal script.  The tone is set with your own words and music, and under the Humanist ethic that affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment for the greater good of humanity!
But enough philosophising! The best thing about this wedding was that these kids make a genuinely lovely pair, and they weren’t swept up in the usual trappings & superstitions of modern weddings.  It was about a fun old hall, their personal philosophy and the celebration of their union!  Which was quite lovely.
I hope you enjoy their wedding story!
Fun day hey?!  I really do think these guys are a fab pair, matched perfectly.  So here’s wishing them congratulations and a very happy life together!
