Yesterday I joined Michelle & Martin to photograph their Papakata tipi wedding in Halifax! How cool is that?!

They had their ceremony down the road from their house at Clayhouse Park

… and afterwards travelled in Campervan convoy to a field they borrowed from a friend of theirs; containing a specially erected three-pronged Nordic Tipi!  Inside were fires, a bar, 2 chill out zones, a circle of dining tables, a dancefloor & a kitchen, and loads of cool lights and floral arrangements. How much does the above pic look like some 60s festival?

I can honestly say that this wedding was one of the most unique weddings I’ve ever shot.  Not just the campervan & Tipis, but Michelle & Martin had put so much fun & thought into every little detail.  Everything was perfect, more like a festival than a wedding.

My pal Fiona, one half of the Firenza Floral Design who bedecked Clayhouse, the Tipis & Michelles hands with the most insanely arrangements, said that when she met Martin & Michelle, she thought they were the perfect Barnaby Aldrick Wedding Photography clients.  She was 100% right – they were right up my street.  Fun, funky & looking for something fresh. It’s weddings like these that remind me what an awesome job I have!

I hope Martin & Michelle have a most excellent time exploring Italy on their honeymoon!  I’ll post more on here when their images are processed soon.
