Last Friday I joined Lindsay & James for their wedding photography at Priory Cottages near Wetherby in West Yorkshire!
It was a magical day, with confetti canons, a camper van called Jeremy and a stunning Ian Stuart dress!
I hope you enjoy the story of their day in the images below…
I always love shooting at The Priory.
It’s one of my fave venues; because it’s both classy & chilled out, and lends itself to a relaxed wedding that couples can dress up however they like.
Plus it’s a working farm, so there’s often fun to be had in the changing seasons, with fields of wheat & rape, and random farm equipment knocking around.
While Hamish shuffled off to document the chaps preps over the courtyard, I joined Linz and her gang for their relaxed morning of pampering
I love Ian Stuart wedding dresses.  I can spot them a mile off, as they’ve usually got a unique, folded rough silk texture and are in a league of their own.
You learn some bizarrely specific knowledge about wedding details in this game. Once I was at a wedding as a guest, and I chatting with the bride, I correctly guessed that she was in Ian Stuart.  But as soon as I’d won brownie points, I said it was because ‘…they look a bit like a sexy duvet’.
It took quite a bit of back-pedalling to get out of that corner!
😉
James’ sister Lisa & his mother in Law Lisa took on Floral duties and did a stunning job!
[Again, most respectable men wouldn’t be aware that they used Eucalyptus, rosemary & dusky David Austin Roses]
I like the little sun flare in this one of Linz having her makeup done.
Meanwhile, over the courtyard, James and the chaps were enjoying bacon & getting dressed up
On the way to the church, James stopped into his folks to say hi to his daughter Georgina, who also happened to turn 4 today!
Then it was time to head to the church in Bishop Thornton, to wait nervously for the bride
This family church was significant because Lindsay’s grandad is buried there.
Back at The Priory, Jeremy sat ready…
…while Linz was helped into her gown
Aww. Always nice to catch moments like this
I liked that all the kids at the adjacent school waited to wave Linz in
Wedding selfie!
Here comes the bride!
Loving the bridesmaids expression behind!
Then after a quick confetti bomb it was back to The Priory…
We kicked off with a portraits while the guests arrived
AÂ beautiful couple!
James was excited to use his confetti cannons!
Then we whistled through the groupshots, and had a bit of fun with the wedding party
Nice to hear ‘Trio Vio’ playing covers throughout the wedding reception
They’d put some serious work into the dressing of the wedding breakfast!
Speeches were lots of fun!
Then as evening drew in, Hamish & I took the guys out for a few quick snaps with a bit of flash…
Then after the official cutting of the cake (created by Simon Gray), it was time for dancing to Chris Hilton’s Little Big Band
Then we left the gang to get down and party!
Congratulations Linsday & James! Â Here’s hoping you have a wonderful married life together and a fab honeymoon in Mauritius and Dubai!
