Yesterday I joined Claire & Chris for their wedding photography at Priory Cottages near Wetherby in Yorkshire!
It was a bit of a drizzly day (being Good Friday, and being a national holiday, it’s law that it has to rain, in spite of blazing sun the day before!), but that didn’t dampen spirits one bit! The day was absolutely brilliant fun, the wedding party looked proper beautiful, and guests and wedding party alike didn’t seem afraid of getting out in a spot of rain – and the photos look all the better for it!
I hope you enjoy my favourite images below as much as we did shooting them!
The girls were looking hot when I arrived to pap their morning, thanks to incredible hair & makeup from Alicia at Get Gorgeous and Gina at Imperial Beauty and make up.
Stunning eh?
Mum certainly thought so!
It was lovely to bump into Fiona from Firenza Floral Design working her flowery magic around the wedding. I love her work and she’s pretty much my fave florist evs.
Meanwhile, Hamish joined Chris and his two best men over the courtyard for their relaxed morning preps.
Chris had received a beautiful engraved watch from Claire as a present
I love how this gown from Haute Couture in Gomersal kicks out at the thighs. Not a clue what that kind of ‘line’ that dress is called, but I like it!
Team bride, flowered powered and ready to roll!
Dad was certainly impressed!
Bizarrely, just before this photo was taken, the Priory manager Serena said she’d spotted a robin sat watching them all from the garden for AGES and not moving.
Claire suddenly said to her dad that they’d had a close relative who’d died and had always said she’s always come back as a robin.
Now I’m not a believer in that kind of ting, but it was a bizarre and lovely moment as the day flew past…
Meanwhile, at the other end of the aisle we had a nervous Chris!
I feel so privileged to be allowed to be this close, almost in an inner sanctum, to witness and document this majorly significant life moment for a man.
Then our newlyweds headed downstairs to be bombed by confetti by guests from above!
It was fantastic to see Claire’s sister (and bridesmaid) Amy and her hubby (and also ace wedding photographer!) Dan again.
I shot their wedding like 3 years ago over at Combermere Abbey, and they looked just as stylish this day as they did on their big day!
In between drizzly outbursts, we managed to get the full team out for this ace shot of everyone. It’s always nice to have an image of everybody’s face on the big day.
Then these brave souls took a quick turn around the Priory under a brolly!
Aww – makes all the difference being able to get outside, even for 5 minutes here and there.
Love this!
I don’t always get to see the bouquet toss, as it’s generally done after hours, but the stage was set…
…and ended up landing with the best man’s misses!
😉
Speeches were just lovely.
And after the best men’s triumphant speech, we bid the happy couple and their revellers farewell, and left them to enjoy their evening celebrations!
So here’s wishing Chris & Claire an absolutely wonderful life together as man & wife! It was a huge pleasure to join you cats to celebrate your wonderful wedding.
We hope you have an awesome honeymoon in the Maldives!
x
