On a wonderfully sunny day last week, I joined Katie & Alex to photograph their wedding celebrations at The Pheasant in Harome, over the North York Moors in Yorkshire.
It was a wonderfully relaxed day and it was lovely to share in the fun and frolics in the spring sunshine.  They simply couldn’t have hoped for better weather!
I love the details and interior design around this beautiful hotel, and reckon I could quite happily move in here!
YEY for sunny icons!
I generally photograph dresses somewhere inside, but after scouting the place, really liked the idea of hanging the gown outside.
Meanwhile, across the courtyard, my wingman Hamish joined the Alex & his best man/bro for their morning preps…
Gotta love a pocket watch!
The ceremony was set to be held in the restaurant room at the hotel
I like all the reflections in these pics, and the one below of dad looking at Katie on the way down the stairs
Emotions got the better of Alex as Katie came down the ailse, which is always moving to witness!
A reassuring hand as vows are chewed on…
It’s always nice to relax on the veranda with canapes and fizz in the sunshine!
Once folk had been watered, we did a quick teamshot of everyone before a blast of confetti…
Katie wanted a seperate photo of the girls and guys, which was a laugh to do!
Then we took a quick turn around the grounds for a few relaxed portraits.
It clearly helped having done a pre-wedding shoot with these guys in a park in Leeds a few weeks back (check out the post here).  Katie didn’t much like having her photo taken, but the practice made all the difference, and the final portraits look just as relaxed as we wanted them to.
Meanwhile the conservatory was set for the wedding meal, which looked just as splendid as the rest of the hotel.
I really like this pic Hamish caught of their little flowergirl playing with the dominos
You could tell that Alex & Katie were foodies with all the details throughout their wedding, but especially so in their towering sponge cake &Â croquembouche!
After a reluctant first dance, the band kicked in and the party really got started
Then before hitting the road, we had a bit of fun with sparklers…
So here’s a massive congratulations to Katie & Alex!  Thank you for asking us to join you on your big day, and here’s hoping you have a fun life together and a fantastic wind down in Robin Hoods Bay before the Italian honeymoon!
Party on,
Barns & Hamish
