Last Sunday I joined Katie & Paul to photograph their beautiful wedding at Wood Hall in Linton, near Wetherby in Yorkshire!
I hope you enjoy the story of their special day!
It was a beautiful sunny day as we drove down the grand driveway to Wood Hall to join Katie & Paul for their morning preparations
The morning was a lovely relaxed affair, surrounded by good friends.
Not only did I fully approve that Kate’s wedding shoes were blue (and arguably suede!), but the Miss Kirk Geiger brand also matched Kates initials.
That and having a spare pair of Kath Kidson flowers flats in the wings!
Girl’s not messing about!
Always lovely to see Fiona Pickles supplying the beautiful flora throughout the day.
I can solidly say that I think she’s the best florist in the business!
Cheers!
Ukuleles are my new favourite wedding gift!
In another room, Hamish joined Paul and his dudes for their morning’s preparations.
Love this shot of Paul reading his wedding card from Katie
It’s all about Love letters!
All of a sudden it was time to rock and roll, and so dad came to escort his happy daughter to the wedding…
They had a lady doing live sign language translation for a hearing impaired guest, and I believe this sign means ‘coming together’.
At the past 5 weddings I’ve photographed I’ve crossed paths with 5 past wedding couples!
At this wedding, it was lovely to see Lee & Jenny who got married at Hollins Hall back in 2012.
The weather came with a dubious forecast of sunny intervals between rain, which was exactly what we got.
Though ducking in & out a few times, everyone essentially had a lovely time out in the sun!
And we got chance to do an excellent confetti bomb!
Then after a round of portraits, it was back to the party to hang out with guests…
The wedding room looked amazing
The tables were named after TV chefs, to follow their love of cooking and baking!
This cake by Patisserie Viennoise in Otley RULES. Seriously, it’s the best looking cake I’ve seen this year.
Then it was time to head in for a meal, before commencing speeches…
The Best Man’s speech won the ‘most cerebral best man speech ever’ award!
We took advantage of a little evening turnaround break to do a few more quick portraits…
The all of a sudden it was time to cut that magnificent cake and hit the dancefloor!
Good times! Really lovely to join Katie, Paul and their lovely guests for such a magical day.
Here’s wishing Katie & Paul massive congratulations, a fabulous life together and an ace honeymoon in Chicago!
Party on kids,
Barnaby + Hamish
