Yesterday it was a massive pleasure to join some old pals of mine, Joanne & Ben, to photograph their wedding at the very lovely National Trust venue, East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley.  As my usual second shooter Hamish was away, a good pal (and talented pro) John Hope tagged up with me, and we had a blast.  It wasn’t the most lovely of days in weather terms, with teasing sunshine in the morning while the gang got ready, followed by drizzle from the ceremony onwards.  While the 1963 Campervan (‘Dillon’!) brought a summery vibe it was great that the guests and (most importantly) our newlyweds, weren’t phased by a spot of rain (or clambering into a dirty barn!), and we’re super chuffed with the photos we bagged.  The amazing setting of a 17th-century manor house & grand tithe barn helped too!
Ben & Jo are a fantastic pair who are so deeply in love and so perfect together.  Ben’s a Kiwi, and Jo a Loiner (Leeds Leeds Leeds!), and their paths crossed on Jo’s adventures with her bud Donna in Perth, Australia.  (I also photographed Donna & Dan’s Thailand wedding back in 2013, where Jo & Ben we’re in the wedding party).  After falling in love, Ben moved back to the UK with Jo and now runs his own successful graphic design company (you can see his ace type-centric flair throughout the day!).
In this game, it’s so lovely to be connected to the couples you pap – as you’re always stood right in the thick of the emotions, during preps with best pals and at the front of a ceremony, and throughout portraits and partying.  It just highlights how genuinely lovely these guys really are. So cheers again for asking us to be involved!
I hope you enjoy their wedding story!
Note the fist bump!
😉
So here’s a massive congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs C! Â Big up y’sen & thanks again for asking us to be involved in this special day.
Party on!
