Happy New Year one and all! I hope 2014 treated you kindly and trust you’re excited and optimistic about what 2015 has in store!
I’ve made a habit on the first day of January to take a moment to reflect on the year I’ve had in wedding photography. It’s always a pleasure to stroll down memory lane, perusing past weddings and picking a retrospective of photographic highlights. 2014 has been yet another fantastic year for me, and I’d like to first throw up a high 5 to every lovely bride & groom who have asked me along for the ride, as their trusted memory maker. You guys rock! Every wedding I shoot is different, every couple unique, and it’s you guys that keep me feeling creative in what I do (and fund my tweed habit!)
I’d like to take this opportunity to big up the fellow pro’s who’ve stepped up to the plate as my 2nd shooter wingfolk – Cris Matthews, John Hope, Natasha Cadman & Joel Skingle, you kids rock. But my big thanks go out to my padawan Hamish Irvine, who’s joined me for 90% of the years weddings, and has developed like a print in front of my eyes, and consistently entertains me on our long drives up and down the UK. Mate, you’re a silly bean & a star.
And to all the readers of my blog, thank you for the support this year. In 2014, over sixty thousand people have popped by to read my rambles! That’s nuts, and I hope next year to post a lot more personal material alongside the wedding work I do.
My target in wedding photography is to tell a story through ‘relaxed portraits, stunning details and timeless moments’, so I’ve decided to structure these highlights as though they were a wedding day, from the morning preparations to the crazed late evening revelry. But I hope you’re sitting comfortably, as even after going through the highlights slideshows for every wedding, I ended up with over 1000+ faves, and it’s been a reet ol’ mission culling it down to my top 200! So here it is! I hope you enjoy browsing through my year…
Amazing effort if you made it all the way to the end! Give yourself 10 BAWP Points (cash value 0.00001p, but redeemable for hugs & jumping 10s)
But once again, thank you one and all for visiting this blog, and if you’re one of my couples for 2015 I hope this excites you about what’s in store this year!
All the very best indeed,
ps. If you’re a glutton for more, you’re more than welcome to contrast this year with last year’s Best Of 2013 here! which included weddings in India & Thailand!
